Practical workflow illustration. Review your own output before using it.

Choose readable input

Use a clear English text image within 10 MB and 12 megapixels. Prefer a straight, well-lit page with sharp characters. Cropping irrelevant margins can reduce work and improve legibility.

Allow the engine to load

First use downloads the recognition engine and language model from this site. Processing then happens locally. The status describes engine loading and recognition progress. A slow initial download does not mean your image has been uploaded.

Review the result

Compare the extracted text with the original. Pay attention to names, decimal points, dates, similar characters such as O and 0, and line breaks. Reported confidence is an estimate, not proof of accuracy.

Handle difficult pages

If recognition times out, try a smaller, clearer image. Handwriting, stylized fonts and low contrast can produce poor results. Scan quality and proofreading matter more than simply increasing dimensions.
